Good judgment is required, and some physical contact will be inevitable in this game - as well as some close-range shooting. Good judgment and good sportsmanship will be especially needed by the Survivors when taking damage from Zombies. Be aware, don't lose your head, and you'll be rewarded with a great experience!
Basic Info (full details below)
Zombies are L4D or 28 Days Later style zombies. They can be killed by normal shooting. (Not Romero-style "headshot only" zombies.) The zombies are "fresh", and generally look human - at least from a distance.
Zombies are normally lumbering and slow, but can move fast when they sense prey.
There is an endless supply of zombies in the town and surrounding area. Zombies respawn endlessly.
Survivors have multiple wound levels but only one life, and are subject friendly fire. If killed, they become Zombies.
Nowhere is safe! There is only safer. Survivors stay on the field until they escape, are killed, or are left behind by the chopper!
FPS Limits
All guns used in the game must chrono 380 FPS (I know some handguns shoot more so will allow up to 380fps for handguns) or lower with .20g BBs. All guns are chronographed at signin. Average must be at or under 380.
There will be a lot of close quarters and low light engagement. Avoid headshots if possible. Aim low. Consider a full-face mask. BBs can break skin or (shudder) teeth.
A portable chrono will be on the field with admins if needed for any reason.
Gun and Ammo Limits and Special Rules
Players may bring:
You are allowed up to one or two handgun(s) (max 50 bb's so like two mags or one mag per gun) and one AEG/SHOTGUN (max 100 bb's however you want to distribute). No loose ammo(except for what you find). And you are allowed to use rubber knifes or even foam swords, bats or axes(no throwing for safety reasons) *Or anything else you may be able to find thats foam*
ONE rifle/long gun or shotgun with pre-loaded magazines (limit of 100 bb's) 3 shot Shotguns are a special case: If you choose to bring a 3 shot shotgun as your long gun, you are allowed 300 bb's to compensate.
DO NOT bring additional ammo with you onto the field. Extra ammo of a variety of weights will be provided to be found in the houses, etc. But you need to find it first! Or steal it from someone. (HINT: There should be ammo in the Gun Shop...)
Each Survivor starts the game with their handgun and their loaded handgun mags, but not their rifle.
Each Survivor's rifle starts the game in the Gun Shop.
Players may only take their own rifle from the Gun Shop. (No one will mess with your stuff.) Any bags of loose ammo (provided) in the town is up for grabs though.
Killrags
Players in play should completely ignore anyone with a killrag. They are dead and on their way somewhere (respawn, etc.)
A white cloth killrag and a glowstick will be provided to all players. Use whichever one is appropriate for the light level, etc. (suggest you get one of those lights from marks work warehouse so you can turn off light when not dead, glow sticks are harder to hide.)
Gear restrictions
There are restrictions on gear. no bdus or webbing for survivors (try to make it as realistic as possible). Radios, and night vision are not allowed. (Pre-loaded BB grenades are specifically OK to bring with your gear, but no extra loose ammo or extra guns.)
Bring everything you'll need during play on your back or in your pockets. (Gas, etc.) Once play starts, Survivors cannot leave the field unless they're dead or they escape in the chopper.
Barricades
A barricade is an "X" of marking tape from corner-to-corner across a door, doorway, window, or similar building opening.
No Survivor or Zombie may pass a barricade.

Barricades may be removed (broken down) by FOUR survivors or 2 zombies together (think of it as one person per "corner" of the barricade.)
Each of the four people together removes one end of tape to break down the barricade. The barricade must be taken down all at once, by four people together. Survivors may place barricades back up as some defense but if one dies your trapped in that building.
Some special barricades can only be removed by specific items. These will always be clearly marked.
Some items (hint: hardware store) allow Survivors to put up new barricades. New barricades are always put up same as in the picture above - an "X" to the 4 corners. Tape from broken barricades by zombies cannot be re-used.
The Town
The town is known to have at least a Grocery store, Bar, Gun Store, a Hardware Store, a generator for the streetlamps, and a Clinic. They start out locked and can only be opened with the right keys which must be found. Barricade materials (i.e. to let you put up new ones) will be in the Hardware Store. Guns (as discussed) and loose ammo will be in the Gun Store. Other items may be in these locations or scattered elsewhere in the town and buildings. Some doors and windows may start the game barricaded.
Next to the town are trenches, a car graveyard, and an old fort(admin head quarters and M.A.S.H. unit). All of these areas are in play (except fort thats off limits to survivors and zombies and any entry will be meet with swift death. The surrounding trees and field is out of bounds for Survivors.
Props and (Locked) Buildings
Props and items will be in the field. Special items that can be used by the Survivors will always have a sign or note saying exactly what is it for and how it can be used. Always follow what the sign says - it will be self-explanatory. (For example, if something is locked and needs a specific key you can ONLY get into it with the key. You can't break the lock, find another way in, etc.)
An example: Survivor Joe finds the Hardware Store, but a sign on the building says the building is locked and cannot be entered unless the hardware store key is found and used on the door. If Joe has the key, the lock is removed and the building can be entered like any other normal building. Otherwise the building cannot be entered any other way (no crawling in the window, etc.) For all props, just look for a sign and do what it says.
Zombies may not handle, move, or carry equipment or items or otherwise interfere with props (the exception being breaking down barricades.)
Survivors drop any "luggable" props/game items (like keys, etc) where they died if killed.
Game items (keys, ammo, etc) are first come, first served (just like real looting!) The food inside the grocery store and any loose ammo in the town is free for the taking. That's right, there is actual FOOD inside the "Grocery Store"!
Admin Items
Some props and admin items will be stored in the field. You'll be told where in the briefing. The area's not off-limits, but leave the stuff inside alone.
Gameplay
Here are the rules for how the game is played. Detailed rules specific to Survivors and Zombies are in separate topics, but a summary to explain how the game works is below. Remember each of you will play half the night as a Survivor, and half the night as a Zombie!
The Survivors must survive in a zombie-infested town and surrounding area until the rescue chopper arrives. It's at least 2 hours out, and there aren't enough seats to fit everyone if everyone survives! But it is quite probably you will not. Find a way to survive in the town until the helicopter arrives, then do all you can to get on that chopper and make sure the pilot stays breathing!
For added details, see the separate topics for "When you are a Zombie..." and "When you are a Survivor..."
Summary of Key Zombie stuff:
Zombies start in the town. They respawn endlessly but have rules about where and how they can do it.
Zombies are killed by shooting, just like any other Airsoft game you have played. Lie where you died for at least 30 seconds.
Zombies normally move at a shuffling walk. They can run but there are special rules about when they can do it. They will only run if they sense prey.
Zombies can only grunt, moan, or say nothing to a Survivor. They can talk to other Zombies but never to a Survivor, or where a Survivor could hear them.
Zombies can't use guns, carry or move props, etc. The only exception is breaking down barricades.
Zombies hurt Survivors by grabbing them or a piece of clothing/gear. A swipe or glancing blow does nothing. If a survivor is grabbed by more than one zombie at the same time, they are killed immediately. (Do not grab head or legs for safety's sake)
Summary of Key Survivor stuff:
Survivors start by entering the town with handguns only (long guns are in the Gun Store). They "win" by getting onto the helicopter and leaving alive.
The helicopter DOES NOT have enough seats for every Survivor that starts the game (Number of seats will be announced on game day.)
Survivors have THREE health levels. These wound levels have special rules that affect how you can move.
Healthy
Hurt (can only walk, no jogging)
Dying (can only crawl on hands and knees. If helped, can walk while arm is held.)
There are special rules about getting wounded. A single grab (you or a piece of your clothing or gear counts) by a zombie or ONE shot by a Survivor causes 1 wound (e.g. from "Healthy" to "Hurt".) Some things - like being grabbed by more than 1 zombie at the same time - kills you immediately. A swipe or other non-grab does nothing. See the Detailed Survivor Rules for more details.
If someone asks you what your health is, you must answer truthfully. (Example: "I'm wounded.")
If you are asked at gunpoint whether you have any special items (keys, props, etc.) you must answer truthfully.
Survivors can rob you of your game items or props, including bagged ammo (small bags of ammo can be found on the field) but CANNOT rob you of your personal possessions or the ammo loaded in any magazines.
When a Survivor dies, they respawn as a Zombie and follow all Zombie rules.
Remember: Go down screaming.
Getting to the Helicopter and Escaping:
The arrival of the Helicopter will be on time and will be announced.
You must get inside the helicopter.
The helicopter pilot must be alive.
The helicopter will take off when:
The helicopter is full,
no one outside the chopper is left alive, or
the pilot decides (or is convinced) to leave.
Also for the first half hour of the game Im implementing that survivors dont attack one another giving them all a chance to get their AEG/Shotguns and no rogue survivors attacking others so not everyone gets a chance to play as a survivor (still cant not team up with other teams).
Finally... remember, just because it's just lying there doesn't mean it's dead.
